Coaching Staff

  • Scott Senkier

    Head Coach | WPSL Team

Coach Senkier has a decade of soccer and futsal coaching experience at both the youth and adult levels. He has led our women's U23 team for the past two summers and is looking forward to building off their success and momentum as Reds Women join the WPSL in 2024. Scott believes in creating and fostering a training environment that is positive, supportive and competitive. When he's not coaching you can find him refereeing, watching Premier League soccer (proud two time champion of EPL fantasy Ligue de Arnold), and hanging out with his wife and their two cats.

  • Xavier Matthews

    General Manager

Xavier has worked with the ASA Reds as the AGM the past two summers, assisting in leading the team to inaugural success. He is looking forward to spearheading the ASA Reds Women as they take on the WPSL. He plans to cultivate a dynamic atmosphere and winning culture, providing opportunities for players in the DMV to compete at a high level! In Xavier's free time he enjoys being around friends, skiing, and of course being on the pitch!

  • Joe Newman

    Head Coach | U23 Team

Coach Joe began his coaching journey over 10 years ago when he started coaching youth soccer teams. Since then, he has achieved a USSF "C" License and helped the Henry E. Lackey Varsity Boys soccer team to historic victories—including the first Charles County team to win the SMAC Championship and their first Regional title since 1986. As a coach, he prioritizes player development and creating a positive team culture. Joe's background in business and technology also allows him to bring a unique perspective to coaching strategies and team management.

Throughout the year ASA Reds Women host tryouts on a rolling basis. Please reach out to womenspro@alexandria-soccer.org if you’re interested in joining an upcoming training for a supplemental evaluation. Interested participants should have high level soccer experience, preferably at the collegiate level or above.
